At the same time, advanced meters also act as a sensor, providing information around the reliability of the distribution system, helping Oncor provide more reliable service and, in many cases, identify and resolve problems before a service disruption occurs. The meters also provide electric providers with a platform for developing innovative rate plans that offer customers more options.
